We are blessed by every type of weather in Newquay, often all in the same day! Despite this variability, there is more sun than you might expect and when the sun does come out we tend to follow it round the house. The morning sun conveniently streams onto the breakfast table in the kitchen.
During the day we are normally out and about exploring the coast, but if we are relaxing at home we sit in deckchairs, or stretch out in our free-standing hammock, in the sun on the lawn.
Lunch could be on the sun deck, with a 180+ degree view of the horizon and coastline.
Then heading inside, the afternoon sun streams into the conservatory, an ideal place for a Cornish cream tea.
The main downstairs space is open and airy, with chic touches of modern elegance. A palette of whites and greys throughout the retreat accentuates the subtly vintage features and cottage-cosy aspects of this hideaway. The open plan living and dining area is rich in natural light, with ocean views.
Art by local and family artists throughout the house adds a personal touch. Outside, Neptune gazes out to sea.
Find the concealed staircase and head up to the main bedroom suite on the first floor. The romantic four poster bed is accompanied by a lovely chaise for relaxing.
Main bedroom suite
Upstairs comprises a suite separated from the rest of the house: the main bedroom, a separate dressing area, and, through a sliding door, a WC/shower room.
The shower room has twin sinks, complete with heated mirror panels at different heights to accommodate all.
Bedroom 2 - en suite
On the ground floor you will find two more bedrooms, one at either end of the property, so everyone has their own area.
Bedroom 2 can be set up as a double or twin bedroom, and has its own small en suite shower room.
Bedroom 3 can be made up as a single or super king-size bed.
It has use of the shared family bathroom which is a wetroom with bath and in-bath shower.
The family bathroom and all en suite shower rooms are finished with a boutique style.
White fluffy bathrobes, bath towels and complimentary bath products are available for your use.
The gorgeous open plan living and dining space offers sea views to the horizon through the bay window.
Cosy up on the charming, faux-fur clad rocking chairs for a prime viewing position, or lounge on the snug sofa or in the armchairs.
With two wood burners located in the sitting room and eco briquettes provided for your use, you’ll always be toasty by the fire!
Set the mood with a record from The Island’s eclectic selection of vinyl, or plug in or stream your own music though the valve amplifier.
On stormy days, check out the games cupboard, well-stocked to keep little and big guests amused, while the fire crackles and the boom of the waves crashing on the rocks below reminds you that you are on your own solid rock in the ocean.
